1st Street Fire Quickly Knocked Down

At approximately 4:30 PM on Friday, August 8th, UCFD#1 was dispatched to reports of an unknown fire in the area of 1st St in Hermiston.

Upon arrival, crews discovered a 30x30ft grass lot on fire with one barn threatened.

Crews quickly stopped any forward progression and extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Remember to practice defensible space by keeping grass & brush trimmed and away from any nearby structures to prevent fire from reaching your home.
