9/17/25- Umatilla River Road Brush Fire

At approximately 5:14 PM on September 17th, UCFD#1 was dispatched to a working brush fire in the area of Umatilla River Road in Hermiston.

Responding units were able to quickly stop any forward progression. One motor home was destroyed in the fire. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

While it may feel like summer is over, fire season is still in full force! Please practice fire safety and remain vigilant, as fires can still start and spread quickly in this hot and dry weather.
