Jimmy began his career as a Resident Intern with Polk County Fire District #1 in 2000, while attending Chemeketa Community College Fire Science Program. Jimmy received both his A.A.S in Fire Science and his A.A.S in Paramedicine from Chemeketa Community College. Jimmy received his B.S. in Fire Administration from Western Oregon University in 2002. Jimmy started working at Hermiston Fire and Emergency Services in 2003.
Jimmy has been with Hermiston Fire and Emergency Services, now Umatilla County Fire District #1 for a little over 17 years. Jimmy Promoted to Lieutenant in 2011, Battalion Chief in 2013 and was promoted to Deputy Chief of Operations in 2019.
Duties at UCFD#1 include supervising the Operations Division, Emergency Medical Services and Fleet Maintenance. This is a busy part of the organization and represents the critical life safety and emergency response duties that the community calls 911 for.
Jimmy is married with four children.
