Battalion Chief Fisher started in the fire service in 2002 in Redmond, OR with Redmond Fire & Rescue as a volunteer/intern. While in Redmond he completed his AAS in both Fire Science and Paramedic at Central Oregon Community College in Bend, OR. While in school, Matt worked as an Emergency Room Tech at St. Charles Medical Center located in Bend while he wasn’t on shift.
After graduating from college, Matt worked for Crescent Rural Fire Protection District for a short time before being hired with Hermiston Fire & Emergency Services in 2008. He held the rank of VP and President of Hermiston Professional Firefighters IAFF union L-2752. He also has held the rank of Lieutenant and currently is the Battalion Chief of C-Shift. Matt has worked on numerous projects including bringing Active911 response program to Umatilla County.
When Matt isn’t working he enjoys time with family and outdoor activities like camping, hunting and fishing. He is also a certified advanced SCUBA diver and enjoys diving trips.
Matt is married with two children.
