Oxbow Trail Fire Stopped by UCFD#1 Crews

At approximately 3 PM on Tuesday, July 29th, UCFD#1 crews responded to a brush fire in the Oxbow Trail area of Hermiston. The fire was contained to less than one-tenth of an acre and a large brush pile.

Despite all District ambulances being committed to medical calls at the time of the incident, day staff, volunteers, and mutual aid resources were able to access the scene and quickly stop any forward progress of the fire. Crews will remain on scene for mop-up.

With hot and dry temps expected to continue into this week, reminder to be practice fire safety, create defensible space around your home, and adhere to UCFD#1’s burn ban.
