Following the storm on 05/30/2020 there is a lot of debris that is now lying around the area. Umatilla County Fire District #1 has received calls regarding the burning of some of this debris. The Spring burning season ended June 1, 2020.
Given that most of this debris is live or green, it will likely not burn hot or clean enough to prevent nuisance smoke.
The fire district recommends either piling the debris and allow it to cure over the summer months to be ready to burn after October 1, 2020 when burning season resumes or transporting to the Transfer Station or Stanfield City Compost Pile available to Stanfield residents.
We understand the inconvenience this may be however this is necessary to keep the complaints and Fire District responses to a minimum during the non-burning season.
